TopKids Avondale

TopKids Avondale is located on the corner of Lansford Crescent and Wolverton Street. We provide safe and respectful learning environments for tamariki. Our centre is committed to learning about the rich multi-cultural heritages of our centre and community. We support all of our children to thrive and grow to become confident, competent learners and we ultimately strive to be a home away from home for your tamariki.

Our team are experienced and passionate, ensuring children’s experiences are positive and memorable.  Our diverse teachers plan responsive programmes, reflecting children’s current interests and dispositions, provoking new learning and extending on current knowledge.

Our spacious and attractive environments enable children to safely explore and make discoveries. Each room offers an environment that is specifically tailored to their age and development. 

Our Little Huia Room cares for our infants from 3 months - 2 years of age.  We have lovely intimate spaces and an outdoor courtyard, providing a safe space for our very young infants. Our infants are provided primary care in Little Huia, where one main teacher supports your child, providing consistent care and communication for your family. 

Our Huia Room cares for our toddlers aged from 2 - 2.5 years of age.  We have a lovely spacious room, which is set up to meet the needs of our growing explorers. We have a lovely outdoor area with gardens which we enjoy caring for.  We encourage tamariki to continue to develop self-help skills and provide a language-rich environment which enables problem solving skills and encourages children to express themselves.

Our Piha Room cares for our toddlers aged from 2.5–3.5 years of age.  The environment in our Piha Room is open and spacious.  We have a lovely levelled outdoor area which offers space for our teachers to set up new and exciting experiences every day.  Our Piha team is dedicated to supporting children in mastering their self-help skills and promoting readiness for school.

Our Karekare Room cares for our children, aged from 3.5–5 years of age. You will find our tamariki researching, revisiting learning and applying past knowledge to new experiences.  We have a wonderful outdoor area, offering children space to explore and challenge themselves physically.  Our teachers are focused on growing children’s knowledge around numeracy and literacy, offering children group times where experiences provoke thinking, problem solving and social competencies, constantly building on their confidence as they prepare for Primary School.
