BestStart Waiwhetu (formerly Early Years Wainui Road) is a lovely, small, community oriented centre within close proximity to Wainuiomata, Woburn, Waterloo and Moera.

About Us

We pride ourselves on embracing and respecting each and every individual for the value they bring to our centre whanau – including our differences and how meaningful learning and understanding comes from these. Walking through the doors, you will sense the warmth of an environment that is calm and inviting, where children and teachers are engaged in planned and self-directed exploration and discovery, and a sense of belonging is immediately felt.

Our team of passionate, dedicated and fun teachers are committed to developing partnerships with our learning community, and creating memorable learning opportunities and experiences for all. We host and engage in spectacular events and celebrations, finding new and innovative ways to showcase and communicate the learning our children have been engaged in. Parent and whanau input is always welcome and in fact encouraged. The same applies for acknowledging and celebrating our families cultures, which you will find woven throughout our curriculum, meal times and centre tikanga.

Many of our team have received long service certificates of appreciation. We are very proud of this and feel this benefits our vision and growth as a centre and our place within our community. School leavers return to visit familiar faces and revisit memorable moments in their time shared with us.

We have loved sending our son to daycare. Since day one they have made sure to remain true to who our son is as an individual. Making sure to learn his personality and interests. Being a Bi-Cultural household, we have also found the centre very supportive of trying to make sure that any way they can, they match what we do at home to stay true to our beliefs.

I love the centre my child attends! The staff are amazing and are fantastic with the children and also the parents. I find it really easy to talk to them regarding any questions I have around my child safety and learning! You know it’s a great centre when the all the children are happy to say goodbye to their parents in the morning (I promise this happens a lot in the infant centre). Sad when your kids don’t want you but at least you can go to work knowing your child is happy to be there! They also have great facilities for the children and are currently introducing a new natural environment for the children and they love it! I think it is great that they are bringing more of a natural and sustainable environment in for the kids. Highly recommend this centre!

The team at Early Years Wainui Rd are simply amazing. My son has developed into such a confident and capable young man with exceptional language skills and the coolest personality to match. He wouldn’t be half the amazing wee man he is if it wasn’t for the girls at Early Years Wainui Rd. They have given him the best possible start in life and I can’t thank them enough.

Approx 8 months ago, we moved our three year old daughter from another day care facility that we were very dissatisfied with, and am very happy we chose this day care. Our daughter has made great advancements in all areas of her development.. whether it be socially or education. The staff are just amazing… friendly and warm, professional, and have an obvious passion for working with children. My only regret, is that we didn’t place our other daughter in this day care before she started school, as she also would have thrived here. Top marks from our family.
