BestStart Silverstream

BestStart Silverstream, formerly known as Early Years Silverstream, is a beautiful new, early learning childcare centre on a large section in the heart of Silverstream, close to the Ohoka motorway on ramp and Kaiapoi. We offer quality early childhood education and care for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Our qualified and experienced teaching team build close relationships with our families to ensure together we provide the very best support and opportunities for each child to flourish.

Our learning spaces

Nursery - Our learning spaces are designed to engage and inspire children as the grow and develop. Our Nursery is warm and nurturing with a flexible routine to ensure our youngest children feel safe and supported, giving them the confidence to explore and discover.

Preschool - Our Preschool room prepares children for the next step in their learning journey through BestStart’s Be School Ready initiative. This runs throughout the morning and afternoon sessions for our children over 4 years of age, working in small groups with a teacher. We promote independence, leadership and provide support and guidance to all children. Literacy and numeracy is incorporated through the daily programme with opportunities for children to explore and understand in a supported environment.

Outdoor area - We have wonderful large outdoor areas with plenty of space for the children to develop their skills and confidence in a natural environment.

We also provide:

• nutritious, breakfast, fresh and healthy morning and afternoon tea created according to the Healthy Heart guidelines, plus a late snack for children who go home later in the evening.
