BestStart Parnell

BestStart Parnell, formerly First Steps Parnell, is centrally located and easily accessible, with free pick up and drop off zone parking. We’re convenient for both commuting families as well as the local community.

We offer flexibility around short and long day attendance. The centre can have up to 42 children from 3 months to 5 years. Our dedicated and passionate team of teachers provide tailored learning programs that nurture your child’s individual needs and interests. With First Steps Parnell, your child will grow as a happy, confident learner.

We have two separate areas in our centre. The Pukeko Room cares for our infants and toddlers who have their own separate area for safe and confident exploration and play. In the Tui Room, children from 2 to 5 years play and learn together, experiencing activities that promote their development. We provide a Be School Ready initiative throughout the centre that focuses on the development of independence and confidence with children.

The children’s playgrounds are well-resourced and offer an oasis within the CBD. The centre uses Storypark, an online based portfolio system, which enables communication with teachers and allows families to share in their child’s learning journey.

At our most recent ERO review the centre was rated ‘Well Placed”. Our dedicated teaching team are committed to upholding this high standard and growing the centre from strength to strength. Teachers continuously improve their professional knowledge both through BestStart and externally sourced programmes.

Enrolling is easy. We encourage parents or carers to visit us, talk to our staff and get ‘the feel and ambiance’ when you walk into the centre. We’ll gladly provide a tour of the centre where we can discuss your families’ needs as well as our approach to education and care and where you will learn more about how the centre can benefit your child.
