BestStart Montessori Herne Bay
BestStart Montessori Herne Bay is an education centre for children up to six-years old on Shelly Beach Road, two minutes drive from Ponsonby Primary School and Ponsonby Intermediate. Our qualified teachers are trained and experienced in the Montessori method, as well as the mainstream New Zealand curriculum. With low teacher-child ratios and a centre that is set in a beautiful villa, we provide a quality programme and excellent support for our children.
About BestStart Montessori Herne Bay
Our Montessori programme runs across two separate rooms for age groups, 18 months to 3 years; and 3 to 6 years. Parents can choose either a short day (8.30am – 3.30pm) or a long day (7.30am – 5.30pm).
Our teachers will:
- Develop each child’s individual potential
- Teach solid language and maths skills
- Encourage a love of learning
- Support creativity and imagination
- Build high self-esteem and social skills
- Foster independence and self discipline
Our centre provides a caring, respectful, co-operative and culturally diverse environment. We value parent involvement and participation in our programme and centre life.
The preschool room prepares children for primary school through our Be School Ready initiative and we work with our local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition.
Montessori Herne Bay uses Storypark to document children’s learning. Through this online portfolio, every child, parent and extended family are encouraged to share and contribute to each child’s learning.
We welcome visits at any time to view our programme in session, or to have a play in our wonderful outdoor play area.
