ABC Manly Central is a quality education and childcare centre surrounded by native bush and beaches, caring for 40 children in Manly on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula. Our centre is separated into two classrooms, ‘Adventureland’ for the over two year olds and ‘Tiny Toes’ for the under two year olds.

ABC Manly Central has a home away from home feeling where parents and whānau are encouraged to be involved in our programme as much as possible. We have a relaxed and nurturing atmosphere and we are lucky to be a part of a tight knit community, allowing our children, teachers and whānau the opportunity to take regular local excursions.

BestStart Manly Central were one of the most highly rated centres in BestStart's recent national Parent Survey.

Our parents rated us 100% overall for staff, reputation and facilities. We were also rated 97% for teaching and 93% for our resources.

Our experienced teachers are from the local community, and their long service enabled strong links with our local businesses and Primary schools to be developed.

Tiny Toes is for children aged two years and under. This separate classroom offers a large space, for a maximum of 12 children. The home-like environment ensures children’s routines from home are met, creating consistency between home and centre. Teachers are very respectful towards our youngest children by being on the floor with them and following each individual child’s cues and rhythms. We are proud to offer an environment where the experiences and activities provided and created encourage our youngest tamariki to explore the world around them.

Adventureland is for children aged two years to five years and focuses on supporting children’s growing independence before heading off to primary school. We provide many different curriculum areas for children to explore, focusing on creating a sense of awe, wonder and curiosity. Our open flow classroom allows for children to independently explore the environment, whilst also learning from others in a social context.

Our unique Be School Ready initiative has been developed to ensure that children leave the centre as confident, capable learners and are prepared for the next step in their education journey.

We have four pets which the children help to take care; a rabbit, fish, frog and a mouse. Our centre provides nutritional morning and afternoon teas which the children help to prepare. Children bring their own healthy packed lunches which supports their growing independence and preparations for school. We have morning and afternoon sessions available, along with short day and long day attendance options.
